Diocese seeks CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
The Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau seeks qualified applicants to fill the position as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The CFO serves by Canonical appointment according to Canon 494, which states a Chief Finance Officer is to be expert in financial matters and distinguished for honesty and integrity. The position
is responsible for the overall financial management of the Diocese under the authority of the Bishop, ensuring that all financial systems and controls reflect best practices, as well as implementing financial controls. The position also manages all human resources activities and manages hiring processes for The Catholic Center. The CFO accomplishes fiscal management and oversight in collaboration with the Bishop
and the Diocesan Finance Council. The CFO supervises and directs the diocesan Finance Office staff.
Applicant must be a practicing Roman Catholic. A master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration is preferred. In lieu of a master’s degree, five years experience in a supervisory position providing leadership, direction, and training to staff is required. Previous employment for a nonprofit organization is helpful.
This is a full-time, exempt position. The diocesan office (The Catholic Center) is located in Springfield, MO. Compensation includes competitive salary and excellent benefits.
